WEEK OF APRIL 30TH
Riley says:
Hello from the Drama Department
I hope you all had a great week. Here in school we’ve been busy perfecting our showcase pieces. I can now tell you that we have our show date, May 18th, a Friday. We are planning to do 3 performances. One for the elementary students in grades 4 & 5, middle school, and an evening performance at 6:00. There will be a nominal charge of $5.00 for tickets for the evening performance. I anticipate that the show will last around one hour. All of my drama students will be performing. You will be able to see really great work. We are planning monologues, scenes, duets, pantomimes, and musical numbers. I am very lucky to have such talented and dedicated students for your entertainment.
The students have been working so hard on their FSAs. When asked, many of them told me that they found the exams fairly easy. That means that they were well-prepared. The students will be continuing their FSAs this coming week as well. As always, make sure they have a good breakfast and a great night’s sleep so they can perform at their optimum potential.
I am still awaiting the PG13 permission forms from some parents. I will be taking the snack orders for our movie field trip. If there is a balance on your child’s account for either lunch or student fees, they will not be permitted to attend even though the field trip fees were paid. Unfortunately once those fees are submitted, there are no refunds as per the signed Parent Handbook. If you go on Power School you can see what the outstanding fees are for. Since you’ve already paid for the trip, please satisfy the past due amounts. In most cases the fees represent a library book not returned. Have your child look through their “stuff” to find these books and return them.
We will be having an exam on "Phantom of the Opera". I suggested the students watch it again so they can get a good grade. It is on Youtube.com for free. https://youtu.be/kYnYidhABgk.
Have a good upcoming week.
