Welcome Parents & students,
Our class got a lot of work done this week despite it being a short week because of the 1/2 day.
We took our Unit One Exam, which encompassed our 5 chapters that introduced the theater curriculum to the students. This unit was the initial foundation of the course.
We will now start delving into character study. In order for actors to be believable in their roles, they have to work on their characters. How they look, how they act, any specific attributes that are associated with a particular character now comes into play. The students and I have worked through many talking points to help them figure out the best way to portray their roles.
During the holiday, I will be putting together a library of scenes the students can start working on. These are considered "straight" scenes because there is no music that would be involved within the scripts. Since now I can definitely see much improvement in their willingness to perform in front of one another, I feel that we could have some extremely great results.
As for now, it is a time for reflection on what is truly important in your lives. Your children, of course, is the MOST important thing you are grateful for.
As their teacher, mentor, and overall guardian of the school days, I wish for you and your family health, prosperity, and all the good things you wish for yourselves.
I am thankful for my students and their families.....always.
Enjoy your time together this coming week.
Mrs. Shultz
