Welcome everyone!
I hope you enjoyed looking at the previous week’s pictures of your children in “full” mime make-up. The classes I did not have the opportunity to photograph for my slide-show I managed to get this past week. I put those pictures up on my “wall of stars” in my classroom.
The class also worked with their groups on pantomimes that they created for themselves. I told them that if they could convey what their skit was about, it just proves that they were good actors! The good news is that yes, the classmates did get it.
This past week they also had their Chapter 4 test. The grades for the week will be put on the Power school on Monday.
This coming week we will begin our Improvisation chapter. I know that the students are all looking forward to that. I have several theater games that we will be playing. These particular “games” are learned because they give the student the ability to sharpen their skills. They may be having fun, but they are learning.
I told them that I see so much growth. Many of the students had trouble speaking in front of their classmates in the beginning of the year. Now, everyone wants to be a part of the learning process. I see confidence building. I see friendships forming, and I see children blossoming before my very eyes.
This week the students will be bringing home Report Cards. If you would like to have a conference with me, please feel free to contact me by email and I will get in touch with you.
Reminders: The students are NOT permitted to come to school in costume on Tuesday. If they do, they will be sent home to change.
Students must always be in Franklin uniforms as well. If it is cold outside they must have a Franklin jacket or sweatshirt on. They are NOT permitted to bring blankets to school.
Nov 2: 1st Quarter Report Cards Issued
Nov 2: Individual Picture Day Make-ups
Nov 2: TO Board Meeting 6:00 PM
Nov 3: PB&J-a-thon in the Cafeteria 4:00 PM
Nov 3: Family Literacy Night 4:30-8:00 PM
Nov 3: Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser for Safety Patrols
Nov 4: Fall Festival 12-5 PM
Please have a safe Halloween. Enjoy this time with your children. Time goes by so quickly…..
